Minced Hogget
Heritage sheep breeds | Pasture for life
Our Hogget and Mutton is made using whole cuts from mature, slow-grown heritage sheep, coarsely minced to preserve texture and flavour. Nothing added, nothing diluted — just properly raised meat with real depth and character. Mutton and Hogget have a fuller, more developed flavour than lamb. It’s savoury, slightly sweet, and carries a natural richness that stands up well to slow cooking and bold seasoning. This is mince for proper cooking — shepherd’s pie, ragù, koftas, meatballs — dishes that benefit from depth rather than blandness.
**Why we like it ** Full, developed flavour Naturally rich without being greasy. Coarse texture that cooks well, Versatile across slow and fast cooking
Perfect for Shepherd’s pie, Slow ragù, Meatballs and koftas, Moussaka, Spiced flatbreads
**How to cook ** Cook over a medium heat, allowing the fat to render gently before increasing the heat to brown. Mutton and Hogget reward patience — give it time and it develops real depth.
